Our accessibility audit method

Four stages, a free audit, and no downtime on your site.

Home > Our accessibility audit method

Our accessibility audit method has four stages: a free audit of your site against the framework that concerns you, prioritizing the barriers by severity and by effort, fixing them without downtime, then keeping it up, because accessibility decays with every publication. You see what is fixed, when, and why.

Things that can be checked, and fixed

Accessibility means that all people can understand, use and interact with electronic information, and become active, contributing members of the digital world. In practice: text you can read when your sight is poor, a form you can complete with a keyboard when a mouse is not an option, a video you can follow without sound, a page a screen reader announces in the right order. Nothing exotic at all. These are things that can be checked, and fixed. Our method takes them in that order: check first, fix next, hold over time. It applies to every one of our web accessibility mandates, and it rests on a simple principle: accessible design benefits everyone, not only people living with disabilities. An accessible site is a site anyone can use, including your customers.

What we look at

We always start by establishing what applies to you. In Quebec, standard SGQRI 008 version 3.0, in force since 29 April 2024, targets public bodies and government enterprises: new content must comply from the design stage, existing content as soon as it undergoes a significant change. In Ontario, it is the AODA, which covers a wider scope; in the United States, the ADA for private business and Section 508 for the federal sector; in Europe, EN 301 549. We work from the framework that genuinely applies to you, not from a generic checklist, and we assess your site against that framework. WCAG level AA is the reference adopted by nearly every text. A private company with no public-sector clients often has no direct obligation, which does not mean it has no interest in the matter.

What we hand you

The full assessment of your site is free, with no commitment. You get the list of barriers, ranked by severity and by effort, with what each one prevents and who it prevents, so you know what to fix first, and in what order. The causes are almost always the same: insufficient text contrast, images without text alternatives, form fields without labels. These are common failures, and fixable ones, and the list tells you which of them affect your site. Fixes are then presented to you before they are applied. Our work is entirely transparent: you see what is fixed, when, and why. It is our way of starting a conversation on facts rather than on a promise, and it is also what lets you decide what comes next with full knowledge of what is at stake.

No downtime, and built to last

We work without downtime on your site: that is a firm condition of how we work. An accessible site is not a rebuilt site. In the great majority of cases it means correcting contrasts, labels, text alternatives and navigation order, not reconstructing everything. Those fixes benefit everyone: sufficient contrast also serves the person reading their phone in bright sun, captions also serve the person watching a video on a train. They also serve your search, and now generative engines too, which read your pages with much the same tools as a screen reader: headings, labels, text alternatives. An accessible site is a site machines understand better. Then comes keeping it up: accessibility decays with every publication, and we put in place what it takes for it to hold over time.

Our approach in 4 steps

1
Free audit
We assess your site against the framework that concerns you and hand you the findings, with no strings attached.
2
Prioritization
We rank barriers by severity and by effort, with what each one prevents and who it prevents, so you know what to fix first.
3
Remediation
We work without downtime, fixes are presented to you before they are applied, and you follow what gets done as it happens.
4
Keeping it
Accessibility decays with every publication: we put in place what it takes for it to hold over time.

With establishing what applies to you, then a full assessment of your site against that framework. The assessment is free, with no commitment. In Quebec, standard SGQRI 008 3.0 targets public bodies and government enterprises; a private Quebec company with no public-sector clients often has no direct obligation, which does not mean it has no interest in the matter.

The list of barriers, ranked by severity and by effort, with what each one prevents and who it prevents. That is what tells you what to fix first. The causes are almost always the same: according to the February 2026 WebAIM sample, insufficient text contrast in 83.9% of cases, images without text alternatives in 53.1% and form fields without labels in 51%.

WCAG level AA, the reference adopted by nearly every text, including the Quebec standard, which adds WCAG 2.2 criteria and exempts two points, live captions and pre-recorded audio description. Level AAA exists, but it is nowhere required across the board and it is hard to sustain on a full site.

No, and that is a condition of how we work. We work without downtime, and fixes are presented before they are applied. In the great majority of cases it means correcting contrasts, labels, alternatives and navigation order, not reconstructing everything.

Because accessibility decays with every publication. A site fixed today starts accumulating failures again as soon as new pages, new images or new forms go live. So we put in place what it takes for it to hold over time.

Yes. We assess your site and hand you the findings with no commitment. It is our way of starting a conversation on facts rather than on a promise.
